This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Drive sales performance, key performance indicators (KPIs), and client experience benchmarks across all stores within the designated area through frequent, hands-on visits to each location.
• Collaborate closely with Store Managers and associates on the sales floor to reinforce effective selling practices, enhance product knowledge, and improve client engagement.
• Track daily and weekly store performance metrics and promptly follow up with Store Managers regarding gaps, opportunities, and necessary action steps.
• Ensure consistent client communication is maintained at each store via client books and the CRM system.
• Aid Store Managers in fostering client relationships, expanding class books, and increasing repeat business.
• Assist with organizing in-store client events, appointments, and local outreach initiatives to grow the client base.
• Mentor associates and Store Managers on clienteling best practices, including outreach, follow-up, and personalized service delivery.
• Collaborate with Store Managers to create and implement local community outreach strategies aimed at acquiring new clients and enhancing brand visibility.
• Ensure that each boutique consistently hosts client events and in-store experiences that drive foot traffic, strengthen client relationships, and enhance sales performance.
• Review client books and CRM activities with store teams to uncover opportunities for deeper client engagement.
• Personally engage in client interactions and swiftly resolve any escalated client concerns with urgency and discretion.
• Uphold a consistent, elevated client experience aligned with Company standards across all visited stores.
• Verify that each store's merchandise and aesthetic align with Company standards.
• Walk the sales floor with Store Managers to assess visual merchandising, product placement, and store presentation, providing direction for necessary corrections.
• Ensure each Store Manager maintains the building's interior and exterior as well as efficient and accurate backroom operations, including stockroom organization and shipping/receiving.
• Communicate product performance, client feedback, and local market requirements to relevant corporate partners.
• Adhere to Loss Prevention and Inventory Control standards, following up on any discrepancies noted during store visits.
• Collaborate with Human Resources for hiring across all store positions.
• Conduct interviews, select candidates, and onboard talent at all levels of the store team.
• Provide ongoing, hands-on coaching to store teams at every level regarding team leadership, sales techniques, scheduling, and daily store management.
• Deliver and reinforce Company training programs at the store level for all roles.
• Complete and administer performance management and development reviews for direct reports.
• Address performance issues in a timely and direct manner at any level of the store team.
• Support succession planning by identifying and nurturing high-potential talent across all store roles.
• Ensure that each store comprehends and implements Company initiatives, policies, and procedures as they are introduced.
• Analyze store reports, including Profit and Loss statements, with Store Managers and assist in identifying actionable steps to enhance results.
• Provide the Director of Boutiques or Outlets with regular, clear updates regarding store performance, team requirements, and field issues.
• Exemplify the “St. John Way” and maintain a high standard of professionalism, attendance, and appearance throughout the team.
• A minimum of 3-5+ years of experience in Store Manager or multi-store retail leadership roles.
• Strong working knowledge of retail store operations, encompassing sales, customer service, merchandising, and inventory control.
• Comfortable interpreting and utilizing store-level reports, including Profit and Loss statements, to inform daily decisions.
• Hands-on experience with clienteling and CRM platforms to enhance client engagement and sales.
• Fundamental Human Resources expertise in hiring, coaching, counseling, training, and development.
• Proven ability to train, coach, and hold Store Managers and associates accountable in person on the sales floor.
• Strong follow-through; capable of translating directives from the Director into actionable steps at the store level.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building capabilities with both store teams and corporate partners.
• Comfortable being highly visible and actively engaged across multiple stores on a daily basis.
• Strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service and fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, retail reporting systems, POS systems, and inventory management tools.
• Willingness to travel as needed to support assigned stores (up to approximately 70%).
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including extended periods on the selling floor and lifting items up to 40 lbs.
