Area Manager, Health Information Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Oversees the workflow among on-site staff to guarantee optimal productivity and adherence to quality standards.

• Adjusts work assignments as necessary to accommodate peak times, absences, and vacancies.

• Prioritizes tasks to ensure the timely completion of ROI functions.

• Provides coverage during backlogs, illness, vacations, or medical record staff leaves of absence.

• Conducts Quality Assurance monitoring of the performance of ROI Specialists.

• Performs productivity and performance evaluations for ROI Specialists in accordance with MRO/customer policies, procedures, and Federal/State regulations.

• Monitors performance metrics and gives feedback and evaluations to ROI Specialists.

• Oversees and approves paid time off requests and schedules for all team members.

• Fosters a positive self-image of MRO by emphasizing customer service and treating patients, colleagues, and medical center personnel with respect and courtesy.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED is mandatory.

• A Bachelor’s and/or Associate’s Degree in Health Information Management, Business Administration, or a related health field, or equivalent experience, is preferred.

• One year of supervisory or management experience in an acute care setting is required.

• Knowledge of HIPAA privacy information standards is essential.

• Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills are required.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications is necessary.

• Willingness to travel up to 50% is required.
