Area Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Provide strong leadership and management to the Retail Service Merchandiser/Lead Merchandiser team within the designated geographic area by recruiting and hiring candidates, onboarding and training new associates, overseeing performance and career advancement, managing conflicts and personnel matters, and offering coaching and support.

• Cultivate a comprehensive understanding of the company’s business model, client and customer details and expectations, along with the specific intricacies of project work processes. Periodically work in the field to gain insights into project requirements. Offer backup support for project work as necessary.

• Oversee assigned project work to ensure timely completion with high-quality outcomes. Review project specifics to confirm that the schedule is accurate and feasible, and that all supporting documentation is up-to-date and correct. Delegate project tasks to Retail Service Merchandisers/Lead Merchandisers, ensuring adequate support for all tasks. Monitor progress, conduct audits of project work, address inquiries, resolve issues, and adjust resources as needed. Ensure the delivery of all materials, supplies, and equipment required for assigned project work.

• Collaborate with store personnel and the team to attain and uphold merchandising excellence, discuss schedules and modifications, meet goals and expectations, and foster a productive working relationship. Take initiative in notifying management of any unsafe actions or conditions to prevent injuries.

• Report and discuss observations, challenges, and business solutions with the Market Manager.

• Efficiently and accurately utilize web-based applications to receive project work notifications, review work documentation and information, maintain Retail Service Merchandiser/Lead Merchandiser profiles and assign project tasks, track progress and status of project work, log and manage work mileage, expenses, and attendance, and complete and oversee training activities. Fully leverage the company’s retail reports and reporting systems.

• Prepare, process, submit, and manage documentation related to assigned project work and the Retail Service Merchandiser/Lead Merchandiser team effectively and accurately.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent in the relevant industry is required.

• A minimum of 2 years of management and/or supervisory experience is necessary.

• Previous experience as a sales agent, in retail, customer service, or resets is preferred.

• Strong interpersonal, organizational, decision-making, and leadership skills are essential.

• Ability to read and effectively communicate with others.

• Proficiency in web-based applications, email, word processing, and spreadsheet software is required, with a strong command of Microsoft Office applications.

• A valid driver’s license is required, and the ability to drive for extended periods is necessary.

• Capable of operating a computer, paper cutter, copier, hammer, screwdriver, drill, case cutter, hand truck, and pallet jack. Ability to climb and stand on a step stool or ladder is also required.
