
Archaeology Field Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Idaho.
• Performing archaeological pedestrian surveys
• Collecting archaeological data (GPS, photographs, site forms, site sketches, artifact sketches)
• Conducting subsurface testing or identifying artifacts
• Measuring and thoroughly documenting artifacts
• Creating detailed and high-quality field notes
• Collaborating as a team member or working independently as required by the task
• Additional duties as assigned
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related discipline
• Minimum of 6 months of experience in archaeological fieldwork or field school
• Proven experience in conducting archaeological surveys and excavations
• Capability to work in varied and often challenging terrains
• Strong attention to detail and proficient note-taking abilities
• A valid driver’s license
• Access to a laptop or computer for completing timesheets, expense reports, and other office-related tasks
• Ability to lift and transport materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
• Per Diem is typically no less than $50 per day
• Hotel or lodging expenses are covered by Sundance and are not included in the per diem
• Frequently available opportunities for post-field office work
