This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +3 more states.
β’ Navigating intricate federal, state, and local regulations to secure necessary permits and approvals.
β’ Creating essential NHPA documentation and collaborating with entities such as the lead federal agency, Native American tribes, state agencies, the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO), USACE, and USFWS to obtain vital reviews and guidance, while managing a multidisciplinary team.
β’ Conducting or coordinating fieldwork with Olsson personnel or sub-consultants, which includes archaeological surveys, test excavations, and the documentation of above-ground historic resources like buildings, roadways, bridges, and historic districts.
β’ Organizing public meetings and workshops to gather community feedback, shaping projects based on input, and ensuring transparent communication of project details while effectively engaging stakeholders.
β’ Collaborating with engineers, architects, and urban planners to integrate historical preservation into projects, fostering interdisciplinary teamwork.
β’ Overseeing projects from inception to completion, managing timelines, budgets, and deliverables, while coordinating with subconsultants, clients, and agencies.
β’ Excellent communication skills.
β’ Ability to contribute effectively and collaborate within a team environment.
β’ Graduate degree in archaeology, anthropology, history, architecture, historic preservation, or a closely related discipline.
β’ Qualification under the Secretary of the Interior (SOI) Professional Qualification Standards (36 CFR 61) for Archaeologist or Architectural Historian.
β’ Practical experience in archaeological or historical research, cultural resource management, or adherence to historic preservation standards.
β’ Strong aptitude for project management, ensuring compliance and oversight with historical and archaeological regulations.
β’ Proficient in clearly conveying findings and producing high-quality written outputs, including reports, memos, and documentation.
β’ Self-motivated and reliable, with a strong commitment to meeting deadlines and deliverables.
