AR & Collections Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.

📋 Description

• Oversee collection activities for overdue accounts through outbound calls, customer interactions, payment arrangements, and various collection strategies.

• Act as a point of escalation for intricate billing inquiries and clarify invoices, payments, promotions, discounts, and account balances.

• Recognize opportunities to retain customers while addressing billing and payment issues.

• Manage overdue accounts via payment arrangements, service suspension, bad debt assessments, write-offs, and collaboration with external collection agencies.

• Assist with accounts receivable functions, including payment posting and monitoring AR reports.

• Serve as a resource for accounts receivable and billing systems, resolving issues and supporting reporting requirements.

• Identify and execute process and technology enhancements across AR and collections.

• Document procedures and create standard operating guidelines.

• Aid in audits, government compliance reporting, and accounting initiatives through data collection, analysis, and cross-department collaboration.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years experience in collections, accounts receivable, accounting, billing, or a similar field.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace applications.

• Strong technical skills and the ability to quickly adapt to billing, accounting, and customer management systems.

• Experience in directly assisting customers to resolve billing, payment, collections, or account-related issues.

• Capability to handle sensitive or complex customer discussions with empathy and professionalism.

• Excellent analytical and critical thinking abilities.

• Skill in researching account discrepancies and finding suitable solutions.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong organizational abilities with the capacity to manage high volumes and competing priorities.

• Preferred: Associate degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or Business.

• Preferred: Familiarity with billing platforms.

• Preferred: Experience in the telecommunications, technology, or subscription-based services industries.

• Preferred: Experience in implementing technology and automation solutions for accounting or collections.
