This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.
• Make outbound calls to potential commercial property occupiers and owners.
• Identify businesses that may have a basis for a Business Rates Appeal or review.
• Assess opportunities against company standards prior to scheduling appointments.
• Arrange high-quality meetings for Field Assessors with decision-makers and senior stakeholders.
• Articulate the potential advantages of reassessing a property's rateable value.
• Accurately document customer details and call results in the CRM system.
• Oversee follow-up activities and cultivate prospects throughout the sales pipeline.
• Achieve and surpass targets for appointment-setting, conversions, and activities.
• Stay informed about the Business Rates system and ongoing valuation changes.
• Represent the company in a professional and ethical manner.
• Generate qualified meetings that offer realistic opportunities for Business Rates savings.
• Provide Field Assessors with thoroughly qualified leads.
• Assist in securing new client instructions for Business Rates Appeals and associated rating consultancy services.
• Candidate must be based in South Africa.
• At least 2 years of experience in telesales, appointment setting, or outbound sales.
• Strong skills in objection handling and closing deals.
• Proven history of meeting KPIs and sales targets.
• Excellent communication skills and a polished telephone manner.
• Ability to quickly establish credibility with senior decision-makers.
• Resilient, self-driven, and motivated by targets.
• Understanding of the Non-Domestic (Business) Rates system in England and Wales.
• Knowledge of Rateable Values and their influence on Business Rates liabilities.
• Familiarity with the VOA Check, Challenge, Appeal process.
• Understanding of situations that may warrant a Business Rates review or appeal.
• Ability to convey complex rating concepts in simple business terms.
• Experience with CRM systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365.
• Experience in Business Rates consultancy, commercial property, property surveying, financial services, legal services, or B2B telesales is desirable.
• Understanding of Rating Lists, Material Change of Circumstances (MCC), Transitional Relief, Empty Property Rates, and Rate Mitigation and Reliefs.
