Applied AI Research Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Construct reinforcement learning and agent environments tailored for real customer applications and Frontier lab scenarios, encompassing task specifications, scoring, and evaluation.

• Create benchmarks and evaluation frameworks to assess model and data quality in terms of accuracy, robustness, safety, latency, and cost.

• Develop LLM pipelines and agentic systems to facilitate research, evaluation, and customer trials.

• Conduct fine-tuning, adapter, and various model experiments to analyze the impact of data and methodologies on model behavior.

• Implement local or self-hosted models for evaluation, inference, and automation processes.

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of experiments, configurations, data, results, and known limitations to ensure reproducibility.

• Collaborate with the GenAI Research team and cross-functional stakeholders to transform technical work into reusable customer engagement resources.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related technical discipline.

• Over 3 years of professional engineering or relevant industry experience in AI/ML or software engineering.

• Proficient software engineering skills with a background in creating reliable, maintainable AI systems.

• Practical experience in developing agentic systems, reinforcement learning environments, LLM pipelines, or comparable AI systems.

• Familiarity with constructing evaluation frameworks, benchmarks, or model testing pipelines.

• Capability to independently tackle technical challenges and swiftly transition from an idea or research inquiry to a functional solution.

• Solid understanding of experimentation, reproducibility, and technical documentation practices.
