Applied AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, create, and enhance AI-driven solutions, agents, and workflows that address business challenges.

• Develop solutions utilizing Azure AI Foundry, Copilot Studio, Azure OpenAI, and Microsoft Fabric.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product teams, and technical colleagues to convert requirements into scalable AI and data solutions.

• Construct and integrate data pipelines, APIs, and enterprise data sources.

• Employ software engineering, data engineering, and AI best practices to ensure secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions.

• Assist in prototyping, testing, deployment, monitoring, and continual enhancement throughout the solution lifecycle.

• Implement DevOps, MLOps, and AIOps practices to ensure reliable deployment, observability, and operational excellence.

• Contribute reusable AI capabilities, engineering standards, and best practices within the AI Centre of Excellence.

• Collaborate with Data Engineers, UX teams, and business stakeholders to promote adoption and delivery.

• Stay updated with emerging AI technologies and identify opportunities for enhancing business outcomes.

• Assess frontier techniques and provide evidence-based recommendations.

• Monitor model behavior and proactively address issues.

• Maintain safe fallback behavior and comprehensive AI governance evidence.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4 years of experience in AI, ML, or Data Engineering, developing production solutions on the Microsoft AI platform.

• Practical experience in creating agentic solutions using Microsoft Copilot Studio and Microsoft Foundry.

• Strong expertise in Azure AI and ML services, including Azure Machine Learning, Azure OpenAI, and Cognitive Services.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, and Foundry for extensive data integration.

• Solid grasp of data engineering principles, including data lakes, Lakehouse (Delta/Parquet), ETL/ELT design, and governance.

• Strong skills in Python, SQL, and API development (REST, GraphQL).

• Experience in implementing DevOps/MLOps and AIOps pipelines for deployment, testing, and monitoring.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Azure AI certifications are highly desirable.

• Desirable: experience integrating AI solutions with SAP or SAP Joule.

• Desirable: knowledge of agentic AI architectures, prompt engineering, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).

• Desirable: experience with Power Platform, Dataverse, or Power BI.

• Desirable: familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.

• Desirable: understanding of Responsible AI, AI governance, GDPR, and security compliance frameworks.
