Applications Scientist – Level 3

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan.

📋 Description

• Engage closely with customers to identify their needs and improvements required in either native Japanese or English.

• Primarily collaborate on-site with advanced computing analysis and metrology modeling, delivering high-level technical support to clients.

• Directly provide application recipes, system operation assistance, and training for customers.

• Conduct system installation qualification, data acquisition, and troubleshooting.

• Train customers on tool operation, assist in recipe creation, and develop training materials as necessary.

• Work in tandem with system applications and service teams cross-functionally to resolve tool-related issues.

• Share information about new system technologies and collaborate with customers on developing new applications.

• Stay updated on the latest features, particularly those related to software analysis, and introduce them to customers.

• Participate in early morning or late-night internal conference calls when escalation of issues is needed.

• Provide support to Japan for over 10 years.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a native English speaker and writer; proficiency in Japanese is an advantage.

• The candidate should be prepared for extended hours of work in a clean room environment.

• Self-motivation, along with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, is essential.

• Strong planning, troubleshooting, and organizational skills are crucial.

• Capability to actively collaborate with internal teams and customers on ongoing projects.

• Proficiency in systematically identifying root causes of problems and thoroughly testing solutions.

• A PhD degree is required in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.

• Must have a strong motivation for new technology.

• Willingness to travel for several weeks to customer sites and worldwide locations for training purposes.
