This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Delivers expert technical consultation and support to clients, acting as a subject matter specialist for Mycronic products and systems.
• Utilizes discretion and independent judgment to analyze, diagnose, and resolve intricate system software and hardware failures, alongside product performance challenges.
• Conducts independent weekly Preventive Maintenance (PM) on customer systems, ensuring seamless, unsupervised execution to uphold system uptime and operational efficiency.
• Develops and implements innovative, tailored solutions for varied customer applications, and establishes sustainable corrective actions to address recurring system issues.
• Acquires and maintains a foundational understanding of SLX and other pertinent systems to effectively provide support and troubleshoot equipment.
• Influences product development by offering field-based insights, documenting client feedback, and collaborating with product development and engineering teams.
• Acts as the primary technical liaison between customers and internal engineering/development teams, translating intricate technical concepts into comprehensible solutions and guiding future product improvements.
• Manages system buyoffs, demonstrations, and new product configurations, ensuring a superior customer experience and successful integration.
• Holds a working knowledge of troubleshooting methodologies, including understanding initial steps, gathering crucial information, and posing relevant questions to efficiently diagnose issues and reduce customer downtime.
• Prepares and delivers engaging presentations to customers, vendors, and senior associates, actively participating in regular customer meetings to cultivate strong relationships.
• Establishes and maintains effective communication with customers and internal stakeholders, escalating support issues to management and higher-level support as needed to sustain system performance and customer satisfaction.
• Develops a comprehensive understanding of Mycronic equipment applications and products through continuous self-education, corporate training programs, and hands-on experience.
• Submits all necessary documentation accurately and punctually, including trip reports, expense reports, and service records.
• Strictly adheres to all safety protocols and utilizes all required safety equipment.
• Performs additional duties as assigned related to the company's service processes and overall business needs.
• Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or a minimum of three years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Preferred experience in a Field Service or Applications Engineering role.
• Strong knowledge in optics/laser, electrical, and computer systems.
• Preferred training or certification in computer systems and MS Windows environments, Linux, Matlab, and complex maintenance.
• Preferred experience in physics, optics/lasers, electronics, and robotics.
• Preferred experience in semiconductor lithography.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear and professional interaction with diverse audiences, including executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
• A valid passport is required, as training may take place at our corporate headquarters in Sweden.
• A valid driver's license is required.
