• Lead the application engineering team, providing technical assistance in the design and integration of customer applications across Europe and regions outside of America.
• Offer technical support to sales personnel in identifying potential applications of company products to meet customer needs.
• Prepare and deliver demonstrations and applications of company products as needed.
• Provide training and ongoing technical support for both customers and distributors.
• Comply with all divisional health and safety regulations.
• Oversee the development of associates and provide daily coaching for direct reports.
• Manage the process of product selection assistance, technical support, and custom or modified product requests based on customer specifications.
• Mentor direct and matrix reports daily, including conducting quarterly reviews and associate development processes.
• Drive continuous improvement projects within the Application Engineering department and customer-facing initiatives.
• Serve as the customer liaison between product design, production, and other internal departments.
• Communicate professionally through telephone, email, and occasionally in person.
• Interpret customer needs and assist in defining both technical and commercial requirements.
• Collaborate with the sales team (both internal and external) to manage assigned accounts, focusing on product direction, profitability, growth, and achieving sales goals.
• Aid in the development of standard procedures and policies to support lean methodologies in the office and performance measurement metrics.
• Assist in defining and implementing marketing strategies to attract new customers and meet sales growth objectives.
• Prior experience in technical support, application engineering, or customer interfacing roles.
• Preferred experience in leading or supervising associates within a dynamic team environment.
• Proven ability to lead process improvement initiatives.
• Effective mentoring skills focused on associate development.
• Ability to lead by example and set high standards for effective communication.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook).
• Previous experience with an ERP/CRM system is preferred.
• Knowledge of the German language is desirable but not mandatory.
• Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new concepts.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Superior telephone etiquette.
• Ability to understand and respond to customer needs in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Capacity to remain calm and positive in stressful situations.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions.
