Application Engineer – High Speed Interconnects

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Act as a technical liaison between 3M and clients for high-speed interconnect solutions.

• Assist in customer design-in efforts for fiber optic connectivity, optical transport, and high-speed communication systems.

• Offer technical guidance to customers, sales teams, and channel partners regarding product selection.

• Promote the adoption of 3M interconnect solutions by comprehending customer architectures.

• Work collaboratively with product development, R&D, manufacturing, quality, and marketing teams.

• Facilitate technical discussions, product demonstrations, evaluations, and troubleshooting initiatives.

• Aid in qualification processes by creating test plans and evaluating outcomes.

• Help customers address field and application challenges.

• Contribute to technical documentation, application notes, customer presentations, and training resources.

• Keep track of industry trends, competitive technologies, and new standards in optical fiber interconnects.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution.

• A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a customer-facing technical, applications engineering, systems engineering, or product support role.

• At least two (2) years of experience with high-speed interconnect technologies, including optical fiber and/or copper connectivity solutions.

• A current, valid Driver’s License.
