API Auditor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Serve as a contracted team member for ABS Group Consulting.

• Receive supplementary training and assist the American Petroleum Institute (API).

• Conduct Quality Management Systems (QMS) audits of manufacturing and oil and natural gas service companies.

• Execute technical audits based on product specifications, performance criteria, management systems, and contractual obligations.

• Travel to audit sites and operate at designated operational-area locations.

• Carry out audits and other technically focused services in diverse environmental and worksite conditions.


⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or an equivalent GED with necessary technical training is required.

• A university or college (post-secondary) degree in a technical discipline is preferred.

• A minimum of four years of relevant technical/quality work experience.

• At least two years of auditing experience or two years of professional experience (engineering, project planning, management, supervisory roles, manufacturing, etc.) OR two years of experience that combines auditing with professional responsibilities.

• Experience in the oil and gas sector or similar manufacturing and/or service industries.

• Practical knowledge of machining, heat treatment, welding, coating, and NDE manufacturing processes.

• Capability to identify design, performance/testing, material, marking, packing, and shipping requirements from technical documentation.

• Previous experience with NACE/IAF Code 17 and 18 is preferred.

• Familiarity with API specifications, including API Specs 5CT, 6A, 6D, and Q1 is preferred.

• Experience in implementing, designing, or maintaining quality, environmental, and/or health and safety management systems is preferred.

• Knowledge of relevant management system standards, including API Spec Q1.

• Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English, including report writing.

• Fluent in the local language where the auditor resides and works.

• Ability to travel using standard transportation methods.

• Capability to work in varying temperatures, including hot and cold, in office settings, confined spaces, and at heights; climb vertical ladders and utilize small tools and PPE as necessary.
