Android Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain high-quality Android applications for production using Kotlin.

• Create and implement user-friendly, responsive mobile interfaces tailored for insurance, payments, and customer interactions.

• Connect backend APIs for quotes, policy management, claims, and transactional functionalities.

• Contribute to mobile features that leverage AI-assisted functionalities (e.g., chat interactions, personalized recommendations, automated workflows).

• Enhance application performance, responsiveness, battery consumption, and memory efficiency across various devices.

• Implement analytics, crash reporting, and user behavior monitoring to elevate product quality.

• Work collaboratively with backend, product, design, and AI/ML teams throughout the development process.

• Ensure the stability, scalability, and security of production mobile systems.

• Continuously enhance engineering standards, architecture, and mobile best practices.

• Deliver consistent, high-performance Android experiences at scale.

• Enhance app reliability, responsiveness, and efficiency across devices.

• Minimize crashes and production issues through improved engineering methodologies.

• Confidently deploy mobile features with robust system design and testing practices.

• Enable AI-assisted product functionalities through mobile integration where applicable.

• Contribute to a mobile architecture that is scalable and maintainable.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of Android development experience utilizing Kotlin.

• Strong grasp of Android architecture components and contemporary development practices.

• Demonstrated experience in delivering production-grade Android applications.

• In-depth knowledge of Coroutines, Flow, and asynchronous programming.

• Experience in integrating RESTful APIs and working with distributed systems.

• Familiarity with mobile performance optimization and debugging in production settings.

• Exposure to AI-driven mobile features (e.g., chat interfaces, recommendation systems, automated workflows) is advantageous.

• Experience with on-device machine learning or frameworks such as TensorFlow Lite is a plus.

• Strong sense of ownership with a focus on detail and product quality.

• Having published apps on the Google Play Store is a significant advantage.
