This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance dashboards, reports, and recurring analyses that drive marketplace growth, seller performance, customer behavior, assortment choices, conversion, retention, and profitability.
• Act as the main BI partner to marketplace leadership, translating business inquiries into precise reporting, analyses, and actionable recommendations.
• Engage in hands-on tasks using SQL, Looker, DBT, and related tools to create reliable data models, reporting layers, and decision-ready outputs.
• Define, document, and manage essential marketplace metrics to ensure all department leaders operate from a unified source of truth.
• Establish and uphold report validation standards, quality assurance processes, documentation, refresh schedules, and ownership expectations for marketplace reporting.
• Identify reporting deficiencies, data inconsistencies, flawed logic, latency risks, and process failures, and take prompt corrective actions.
• Build monitoring and alerting systems around critical marketplace datasets and reporting workflows to enhance reliability and mitigate downstream risks.
• Collaborate closely with Marketplace Operations, Seller Success, Finance, Marketing, Product, and Technology teams to prioritize BI requirements and deliver effective solutions.
• Oversee BI intake, prioritization, and delivery schedules for marketplace initiatives using a structured backlog and sprint-based methodology aligned with existing BI team workflows.
• Conduct in-depth analyses on significant marketplace opportunities and risks, such as growth trends, seller quality, customer lifecycle behaviors, operational bottlenecks, and emerging performance challenges.
• Educate business users on accurately interpreting reports, applying filters correctly, and responsibly utilizing data in decision-making.
• Foster a culture of accountability, clarity, speed, and business collaboration within the analytics function.
• Supervise direct reports, contractors, or external BI resources as assigned, while continuing to be an effective hands-on contributor.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Information Systems, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Over 5 years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, data analysis, or a related area.
• A minimum of 1 year of leadership, people management, or functional ownership experience is preferred.
• Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience in developing dashboards and reporting workflows.
• Experience with Looker and LookML, or similar BI platforms and semantic modeling tools.
• Familiarity with DBT, BigQuery, and concepts related to modern analytics stacks.
• Comprehensive understanding of data governance, metric definition, quality assurance, documentation, and reporting reliability.
• Proven ability to link business inquiries to analytical frameworks and provide practical recommendations.
• Excellent communication skills, with the capability to convey technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong project management, prioritization, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
