This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.
• Utilize advanced data analytics to extract insights and enhance credit strategies across various products and regions.
• Collaborate with Engineering to design and implement scalable risk models and credit risk functionalities.
• Monitor portfolio performance and macroeconomic factors influencing loan results; proactively modify underwriting and marketing strategies to reduce risk.
• Work closely with Product, Legal, and Compliance teams to interpret shifting regulatory and market demands across different jurisdictions, translating these into recommendations for credit policy, underwriting, and product design.
• Engage and coordinate with external stakeholders—including merchants, vendors, and regulatory entities—to align credit risk practices, ensure compliance, and strengthen strategic partnerships.
• Supervise the creation and implementation of credit underwriting frameworks that balance growth, compliance, and risk mitigation objectives.
• Facilitate cross-functional discussions to ensure that new product launches and market entries are in line with risk appetite, operational capabilities, and local regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or a related field, along with 4+ years of experience (or equivalent senior-level experience).
• Proven experience in formulating credit strategies for new products using Sandbox data, retrospective studies, or historical archives.
• Experience in high-limit unsecured lending, particularly within the home improvement sector.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, or other scripting languages.
• Skills in data mining, data visualization, and statistical modeling.
• Experience applying machine learning techniques to credit risk management.
• Ability to utilize advanced analytics to create and refine credit strategies.
• Capable of monitoring and interpreting model performance metrics across portfolios.
• Proven track record of leading cross-functional initiatives that connect Product, Legal, Compliance, and Engineering to synchronize credit strategies with regulatory frameworks and business objectives.
• In-depth knowledge of consumer lending regulations, fair lending standards, and regional market dynamics that affect credit policy and underwriting.
• Ability to transform complex regulatory and economic information into actionable credit and product strategies.
• Demonstrated success in mentoring high-performing analytical teams and promoting data-informed decision-making on a large scale.
• Outstanding communication skills with the capability to influence senior stakeholders in both technical and non-technical areas.
