• Gather, validate, analyze, and integrate data from various sources, incorporating both qualitative and quantitative primary and secondary information.
• Create client-ready analytical reports that highlight key findings and conclusions; provide detailed analyses supported by charts, graphs, and visuals; and offer actionable recommendations to assist private and public sector clients in making informed decisions.
• Follow and exemplify established reporting templates to ensure uniformity in documentation.
• Perform trend and comparative analyses across different timeframes and geographic locations.
• Grasp research design principles, including sampling methods and qualitative and quantitative tools such as in-depth interviews, focus groups, and surveys.
• Develop and enhance research and analytical methodologies while exploring new sources and techniques to gather information in targeted areas.
• Execute systematic secondary research using publicly accessible sources, including academic databases, news articles, published books, and journals, and extract key insights.
• Review and edit reports for errors, inconsistencies, formatting issues, grammar, and spelling.
• Collaborate with all members of the Research & Analysis team to surpass client expectations.
• Bachelor’s degree with 3-5+ years of relevant experience, Master’s degree with 2+ years of experience, or over 10 years of pertinent analytical experience in intelligence analysis, international affairs, security studies, political risk, or a related discipline.
• Strong research, analytical, and writing capabilities, including the ability to summarize key findings effectively.
• Familiarity with both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to function effectively both independently and as part of an analytical team.
• Outstanding attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, general computer applications, and modern collaborative communication tools.
• Strong organizational and prioritization abilities, capable of managing multiple projects, adapting to changing requirements, and meeting tight deadlines in a remote setting.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the Department of Defense (DoD), Department of State (DoS), U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), and other U.S. government operations.
• Interest in international relations, U.S. national security, or related fields.
• Capability to work effectively in a remote-work environment.
• Background in statistics, including familiarity with R and/or SPSS (preferred qualification).
• Experience in data visualization (preferred qualification).
• Working knowledge of geospatial tools (preferred qualification).
