This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conduct clinical data analysis and manage cases to accurately interpret genetic findings.
• Establish correlations between phenotypes and genotypes across various genetic disorders.
• Examine and interpret clinical features of genetic conditions utilizing internal resources and professional tools.
• Review and finalize genetic test reports, interpret variants, and curate internal databases.
• Act as a subject matter expert for specific genes, disorders, tests, and workflows.
• Engage with clients through email, phone, or other communication channels to facilitate case resolution and enhance provider engagement.
• May abstract clinical information from patient records.
• Conduct literature reviews and database searches to assist in variant interpretation and classification.
• Meet or surpass productivity and accuracy standards set by the team lead.
• Document evidence and rationale for variant classification in a clear and standardized format.
• Aid in the development of test information and report language specific to variants, genes, or diseases.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the team or department.
• PhD in Biology, Genetics, or a related field, or MD/DO with over 2 years of directly relevant experience in clinical diagnostics (including fellowship).
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven computer skills, including the ability to maintain a high level of proficiency with internal systems and the Microsoft Office Suite as well as the Office 365 environment.
• Prior experience with variant curation is preferred but not mandatory.
