Senior Research Analyst – Environmental and Civil Programs

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Perform comprehensive research on environmental conditions, contamination history, regulatory standards, and site-specific data to assist EPA initiatives.

• Review deeds, plats, easements, rights-of-way, liens, and historical ownership to ascertain land status and encumbrances.

• Identify, evaluate, and scrutinize civil documentation such as deeds, court filings, liens, permits, zoning records, and municipal archives.

• Assess federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to land use, environmental compliance, and civil documentation.

• Investigate historical land use, ownership, industrial activities, and environmental conditions utilizing public and archival resources.

• Deliver research that underpins CERCLA, RCRA, Brownfields, and other EPA programs.

• Synthesize findings from environmental datasets, GIS layers, legal documents, and historical records into clear and actionable reports.

• Develop technical memoranda, title abstracts, environmental summaries, and regulatory assessments for EPA and other federal clients.

• Collaborate with federal agencies, legal teams, environmental scientists, and project managers.

• Ensure precision, comprehensiveness, and adherence to federal standards and Aleut Federal protocols.

• Organize research files, digital records, and metadata for long-term program utilization.

• Create civil research summaries, regulatory briefs, and supporting documentation for EPA project teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geography, Legal Studies, Public Policy, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Over 5 years of experience in title research, environmental research, regulatory analysis, or related fields.

• Strong knowledge of EPA programs, environmental statutes (CERCLA, RCRA, NEPA), and land-use regulations.

• Proficient in GIS platforms, public land records systems, and federal research databases.

• Capability to interpret complex legal descriptions, survey documents, and environmental datasets.

• Exceptional written communication skills for generating technical reports.
