AML Investigator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North America.

📋 Description

• Oversee daily transaction monitoring and investigations within Strike's AML program, encompassing alert reviews and suspicious activity reporting.

• Analyze and resolve transaction monitoring alerts based on internal AML and blockchain protocols, identifying potential fraud, structuring, and unusual activities.

• Maintain a defensible audit trail by documenting investigative findings.

• Utilize blockchain analytics tools to assess on-chain counterparty exposure and trace flagged activities.

• Gather evidence, transaction records, and case summaries to support determinations of suspicious activities and the drafting of SAR narratives.

• Employ AI tools to enhance the efficiency and thoroughness of casework, providing feedback on their application in investigations.

• Contribute to the overall compliance program, including handling external requests, managing onboarding and screening processes, addressing complaints, and carrying out remediation tasks.

• Identify and report any anomalies or suspicious behaviors in accordance with AML and fraud policies.

• Take initiative, lead change, and influence key business decisions across Strike's various operational areas.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in AML, financial crime, or fraud investigations.

• At least 1 year focused on investigations related to blockchain or digital assets.

• Proficient in tracing bitcoin transactions through various hops and interpreting on-chain counterparty exposure.

• Outstanding analytical skills and a keen attention to detail.

• Capability to analyze public records, transaction data, and KYC information.

• Excellent written communication and narrative development abilities.

• Familiarity with BSA/AML requirements, basic OFAC sanctions, and common money laundering indicators and typologies.

• Proficient with blockchain analytics tools such as Chainalysis and TRM Labs.

• Skilled in open-source research, KYC/case management tools, and platforms like Zendesk.

• Eagerness to learn and embrace AI tools; prior experience is not mandatory.

• Strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with a diverse clientele.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced remote environment.

• Capacity to take ownership and operate with a high sense of urgency.

• Fluency in English is essential; additional language skills are an asset.

• Knowledge of Lightning Network (LN) is preferred.
