AJO Platform Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the main expert on the Adobe Journey Optimizer platform, providing guidance on architecture, governance, and best practices.

• Lead discovery sessions with clients and internal teams to gather insights on business needs and solution requirements.

• Cultivate an understanding of client business and data to ensure platform solutions align with marketing goals.

• Convert business requirements into technical specifications for platform setup, data structures, integrations, and customer journeys.

• Collaborate with AEP/CDP Architects and Engineers on XDM schemas, data ingestion, dataset activation, transformations, event pipelines, and system monitoring.

• Direct the configuration and development of digital marketing initiatives across email, SMS, push notifications, in-app messaging, and additional channels.

• Oversee AJO user roles and permissions management.

• Supervise platform development, testing, and deployment processes.

• Support development teams involved in platform integrations.

• Create and deliver architecture and technical specification documentation.

• Serve as the daily technical subject matter expert for both internal and client teams.

• Ensure system health and guide engineers in maintenance activities.

• Manage workflows, timelines, and change controls across multiple concurrent projects.

• Assist in project estimation and Marketing Technology roadmapping initiatives.

• Facilitate ongoing optimization of the platform and schemas.

• Direct the technical implementation of features as necessary.

• Contribute to AEP Centers of Excellence, frameworks, accelerators, and reusable delivery assets.

• Advocate for and enforce information security protocols, including acceptable use policies, malware protection, and password management.

• Identify, evaluate, and report risks affecting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets.

• Assess data storage, processing, and transmission for compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy regulations.

• Ensure data protection is integrated throughout the information lifecycle.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience with 3 or more complete end-to-end implementations of Adobe Journey Optimizer, covering architecture, data design, integration, and activation.

• A minimum of 3 years of practical experience working with Adobe Journey Optimizer.

• Knowledge of Channel Configuration, Data Sources, Events, Actions, Audience Definition, Decision Management, and related AJO functionalities.

• Understanding of non-native activation and external-system customer interactions.

• Adobe Journey Optimizer certification is preferred.

• Strong preference for experience with Adobe Experience Platform, RTCDP, and CJA.

• Background as a data modeler is advantageous.

• Proficiency in JSON and XML is required.

• Experience or familiarity with HTML, MJML, CSS, and responsive email design is a plus.

• Agency experience is preferred, including over 2 years in a client-facing capacity.

• Understanding of agency structures and agile project management methodologies is beneficial.

• Strong grasp of digital marketing execution processes, audience segmentation strategies, industry best practices, legal compliance for communications, and downstream campaign analysis.

• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

• Ability to effectively communicate with technical staff, business personnel, and management.

• Familiarity with marketing automation platforms and marketing cloud solutions such as Adobe Campaign, Adobe Journey Optimizer, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Braze, or Marketo is a plus.

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related business or technology field, or equivalent work experience is required.
