AI/ML Governance Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Implement AI/ML and MLOps governance requirements throughout the entire model lifecycle.

• Convert governance requirements into actionable controls, procedures, templates, checklists, and documentation.

• Assist in governance activities related to model intake, development, validation, registration, deployment readiness, production monitoring, change management, and retirement.

• Collaborate with Data Scientists, AI Engineers, MLOps Engineers, Product Owners, as well as Risk and Governance teams.

• Keep model documentation, governance records, approvals, inventories, and audit-ready evidence up to date.

• Ensure proper model validation, versioning, traceability, monitoring, and lifecycle controls are in place.

• Identify governance gaps and risks, coordinating suitable remediation activities.

• Facilitate the ongoing enhancement and automation of governance processes within AI/ML workflows.

• Contribute to governance practices related to Generative AI, LLMs, and Agentic AI solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of relevant experience in AI/ML, MLOps, Model Governance, Model Risk, Responsible AI, Technology Risk, or related disciplines.

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Strong knowledge of the Machine Learning lifecycle, including development, validation, production, and monitoring phases.

• Familiarity with AI Governance, Responsible AI, Model Risk Management, or similar governance frameworks and controls.

• Experience in technical or operational controls, documentation, validation, compliance, or audit evidence.

• Capability to translate governance or risk requirements into practical technical processes.

• Proven experience collaborating with both technical and non-technical teams.

• Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills.

• Proficient in English.

• Experience with Vertex AI or similar ML platforms such as AWS SageMaker, Azure Machine Learning, Databricks, or MLflow.

• Familiarity with model registries, inventories, lineage, monitoring, versioning, or lifecycle management.

• Experience in automating governance controls within MLOps pipelines.

• Exposure to regulated or highly controlled environments.

• Knowledge of governance, evaluation, risk, or safety practices for Generative AI, LLMs, or Agentic AI.
