• Act as the embedded technical partner and team leader for value stream Product Owners (such as Awareness to Revenue, Implementation to Renewal), offering hands-on support on agent design, model selection, and workflow architecture.
• Assist value stream POs in converting business requirements into well-defined agent specifications that the engineering team can reliably build upon.
• Connect the platform's capabilities with value stream delivery, ensuring POs are informed about current and future platform support.
• Establish the technical direction for the development and governance of AI agents at Blackbaud, setting standards, patterns, and guardrails that are scalable across value streams and teams.
• As the AI Engineer/Builder function evolves, take on the role of lead architect and daily technical leader for a team of two to three engineers focused on API and agentic architecture.
• Represent the technical platform in Steering Committee meetings, PI Planning, and cross-functional discussions, providing analyses that ground platform decisions in practical reality.
• Mentor and enhance the skills of practitioners within the Champions Network and value stream teams for AI development throughout the organization.
• Evaluate new releases, capability claims, and integration possibilities across Claude Enterprise, Copilot/Copilot Studio, Agentforce, and Watson Orchestrate.
• Generate platform recommendations swiftly — within days rather than weeks — accompanied by a clear rationale for the Director's action and understandable to the ELT.
• Assess vendors based on their technical merits for each use case, maintaining no commercial bias towards any single platform.
• Manage the internal MCP server taxonomy to ensure adherence to governance standards.
• Collaborate with the CTO's architecture team regarding crossover zones where internal and external platform tools intersect.
• Provide architectural recommendations on whether an internal workflow requires an MCP server or a simpler integration.
• Define design standards for operational agents and review agentic workflow designs prior to production deployment.
• Act as the technical resource for the internal Champions Network.
• Conduct technical office hours, review workflow designs, and identify risks before they impact production.
• Prepare technical platform inputs for PI Planning, emphasizing what capabilities are primed for value stream adoption.
• Partner with the CTO's platform architecture team to govern technical aspects of split-ownership tools and delineate the boundary between internal tools and external product capabilities.
• Monitor new model releases, agent frameworks, and vendor capabilities, communicating relevant updates to the Steering Committee.
• Convert field developments into actionable platform implications for the Director and senior stakeholders.
• A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with LLM APIs and agent frameworks, including involvement in or alongside an enterprise AI adoption initiative.
• Proven AI fluency, with experience in creating prompts, working with multiple LLM APIs, and integrating AI into real-world workflows preferred.
• Experience in designing agentic workflows within an enterprise setting.
• Knowledge of MCP server architecture with the ability to manage a taxonomy and provide architectural recommendations.
• Familiarity with various Enterprise AI platforms, including Claude Enterprise, Microsoft Copilot/Copilot Studio, Salesforce AgentForce, and IBM Watson Orchestrate.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical platform recommendations to non-technical and executive audiences.
• Experience with AI governance, responsible AI practices, security, and compliance considerations in an enterprise environment.
• Background in consulting or systems integration involving the implementation of Claude Enterprise, Copilot, or AgentForce at an enterprise scale.
• A strong passion for enhancing the integration of AI into complex organizations' teams, workflows, and processes.
• Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
