AI Solutions Architect – MCP, JS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Design and develop essential capabilities for the MCP platform, encompassing MCP clients, servers, tool invocation patterns, and integration with existing backend services.

• Establish reference architectures and engineering standards for MCP servers, tools, resources, schemas, authentication, context management, and versioning.

• Create reusable TypeScript/Node.js libraries, SDKs, templates, and starter projects to support product teams.

• Design shared functionalities surrounding conversation state, agent state, context management, and orchestration workflows.

• Provide architectural guidance for determining the appropriate use of MCP, A2A communication, traditional APIs, and service-to-service integration patterns.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to review design solutions and document best practices.

• Mentor engineers and offer technical leadership in AI integration and platform engineering projects.

• Ensure the platform's scalability, maintainability, security, and operational excellence.

• Define the architectural vision and technical standards for the enterprise-wide adoption of MCP.

• Foster technical alignment across teams and facilitate strategic architectural decisions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of production experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js.

• More than 2 years of experience in software architecture, backend platform engineering, or technical leadership roles.

• Strong expertise in the TypeScript and Node.js development ecosystem.

• Demonstrated experience in designing distributed systems, APIs, SDKs, frameworks, or developer platforms.

• In-depth understanding of software architecture principles, interface design, versioning strategies, and reusable platform components.

• Practical experience with MCP clients, servers, tools, resources, and LLM tool invocation.

• Experience leading technical initiatives across diverse engineering teams.

• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.

• Proven experience defining scalable architecture standards and reusable engineering practices.

• Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions in high-scale environments.

• Upper-Intermediate or higher proficiency in English.

• Experience with A2A communication and agent orchestration platforms is an advantage.

• Background in AI/ML platform engineering is a plus.

• Familiarity with FinTech products, payment systems, or embedded finance solutions is advantageous.

• Contribution to architectural governance and engineering standards at scale is a plus.
