AI Product Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• You will take ownership of a specific AI workstream. Depending on your experience level, you may lead it on your own or collaborate closely with a senior PM who will serve as your primary mentor.

• In either scenario, you will be closely connected to users, the technology, and the future of AI products.

• We operate at a fast pace, value high-quality craft, and are at a stage where strong product insights can significantly influence the direction of the platform.

• You will be at the forefront of n8n’s growth, working closely with Engineering, Design, Data, Product Marketing, DevRel, Community, Support, and Customer Success teams.

• This is not a machine learning platform or research position. We are seeking individuals who have hands-on experience building with AI, whether through production products, substantial prototypes, public projects, agent workflows, evaluations, or tools that real users have engaged with.

• AI Trust: Your responsibility will be to ensure that AI on n8n is reliable. This workstream focuses on evaluations, observability, traces, guardrails, reliability, latency, cost, debugging, and human-in-the-loop patterns — all essential for transforming “AI works in demos” into “AI works in production.”

• Mission: Enhance the quality of AI across the platform and make AI behavior more transparent.

• AI Building / Super Agent: Your goal will be to transform n8n into an AI-first product. This workstream will concentrate on Super Agent, custom memory, Skills, computer and browser interactions, chat-first development, and proactive suggestions — emphasizing a collaborative approach where AI builds alongside the user, rather than just for the user.

• Mission: Transition a significant portion of n8n usage to AI-native interfaces.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven track record in building: you have created tangible products with AI, not just discussed them. This may include shipped products, substantial prototypes, public projects, agent workflows, evaluation suites, or tools utilized by real users.

• AI-native by default: you regularly use tools like Claude Code, Cursor, Lovable, n8n, or similar, and keep a close watch on the AI product landscape.

• Evaluation expertise: you have either constructed or significantly influenced evaluations, rather than merely talking about them.

• Understanding of harnessing: you are familiar with tool loops, planners, scaffolding, context management, and the practical limitations of agentic systems.

• Strong product instincts: you possess a clear understanding of trade-offs, user value, product quality, and what should or should not be built.

• UX sensibility: you can identify quality design and understand the nuances of great user experience. You can articulate why one product excels while another falls short.

• Comfort with uncertainty: you are skilled at bringing order to chaos, structuring ambiguous problems, and making progress despite numerous potential directions.

• Effective communication: you write clearly, reason from fundamental principles, and can engage others effectively.

• For more experienced candidates, we will also consider:

• Experience with deployed AI: you have implemented real LLM or agent features, engaged with actual users, and learned from real failures.

• 0-to-1 product ownership: you have managed ambiguous product areas from problem discovery through to launch and iteration.

• Data proficiency: you are comfortable with SQL, funnels, product metrics, and maintain a healthy skepticism regarding the insights metrics can provide.

• Influence without formal authority: you can align engineering, design, data, and go-to-market teams around complex product decisions.

• For candidates earlier in their careers, we highly value:
