AI Operations Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Assume operational responsibility for the configuration, reliability, and technical standards of Storm's AI tools and platforms.

• Lead the technical response of the AI Operations team when there are changes to AI tools, platforms, or their underlying capabilities.

• Establish and maintain technical operational standards for AI tooling within the scope of the AI Operations team.

• Enhance visibility regarding AI tool configuration, platform utilization, access administration, and overall operational performance.

• Identify ineffective, unstable, or cumbersome AI tooling operations, devise technical solutions, and ensure they are robust and scalable.

• Provide leadership with clearer insights into the performance reliability of the AI tooling stack, its vulnerabilities, and necessary changes to platforms or tools.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in the operational management of technical platforms, particularly AI tools or platforms.

• High level of initiative and a strong sense of ownership regarding technical operational outcomes.

• Ability to make sound decisions in ambiguous situations and maintain a rapid pace.

• Capacity to prioritize difficult trade-offs within a technical platform stack and take decisive action.

• Proven track record of driving technical operational improvements to completion, rather than merely suggesting them.

• Clear and direct technical communication skills, along with the confidence to uphold technical standards.

• Deep understanding of AI tools and platforms, with a strong intuition for the pace of change in the AI tooling environment.

• Strong technical aptitude specifically in AI platforms: LLM platform configuration, prompt and agent configuration, AI tool APIs and integrations, AI tool permissions, AI-related automation, and workflow dependencies.

• Good judgment on when to take action, when to seek input, and how to bridge user needs with AI platform realities.

• Energy, discipline, and commitment to maintaining a sustained operational pace.
