AI Modernization Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Examine legacy applications, scripts, and manual processes to grasp their purpose, interdependencies, and actual functionality.

• Document system behaviors and sustain a comprehensive knowledge base.

• Determine if capabilities should be retained, replaced, consolidated, automated, or retired.

• Develop and maintain a prioritized modernization roadmap that aligns with business objectives and timelines.

• Oversee initiatives from initial discovery to release and handover.

• Collaborate with engineering, QA, Operations, business stakeholders, managed service providers, and external partners.

• Ensure that delivered work includes requirements, documentation, monitoring, and an accountable owner.

• Monitor significant risks until they are resolved.

• Transform recurring manual tasks into reusable AI-assisted workflows for discovery, documentation, planning, and risk management.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in product management, technical discovery, systems analysis, legacy modernization, or a comparable hybrid technical/delivery role, with a focus on product management.

• Proficiency in application architecture, APIs, databases, integrations, reporting, scheduled jobs, and both cloud and on-premises infrastructure.

• Capability to investigate unfamiliar and poorly documented systems through code analysis, stakeholder interviews, and reconstructing undocumented contexts.

• Skill in translating business and operational requirements into engineering-ready specifications and plans, including architecture diagrams, runbooks, and monitoring/support handoff documentation.

• Knowledge of software delivery, release management, observability, support, and operational handover processes.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities with engineering teams, business stakeholders, and external partners.

• Willingness to question incomplete information and assumptions.

• Practical experience utilizing AI for investigation, analysis, documentation, or workflow enhancement.

• Proficiency in reading .NET code and architecture to assess designs and validate engineering efforts.

• Familiarity with transaction systems or reporting platforms is an advantage.

• Experience with Windows-based legacy applications and hybrid cloud/on-premises infrastructure is a plus.

• Background in working with or managing relationships with a managed service provider is a bonus.
