This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.
• Review and optimize our deployment workflow and CI/CD pipeline.
• Establish a proper staging environment.
• Create documentation for the stack and architectural choices.
• Implement end-to-end testing as a standard practice.
• Develop additional data ingestion connectors beyond Xero, including accounting platforms, identity providers, and HR/payroll systems.
• Design and implement vendor utilization integrations.
• Create a notifications system that encompasses onboarding, alerts, and insight delivery.
• Design and construct a scalable master vendor catalog.
• Expand upon LLM-based vendor identification and classification efforts.
• Develop evaluation infrastructure for agent reliability.
• Productionize the agent task model, focusing on per-task pricing.
• Build Tier 2 functionalities, including utilization analytics, consolidation recommendations, and renewal automation.
• Integrate Stripe for billing and tiered paywall management.
• Contribute to the recruitment process for engineer #2.
• 1–5 years of experience delivering production web applications.
• Proficient in Next.js with App Router (not limited to Pages Router).
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL: migrations, indexing, transactions, and raw SQL when necessary.
• Experience with AWS in a production environment: ECS or similar, RDS, IAM, and secrets management.
• Knowledge of REST API design, OAuth, webhooks, and idempotent operations.
• Familiarity with multi-tenant SaaS architecture and associated tenancy challenges.
• Excellent written English skills for asynchronous communication with founders in different time zones.
• Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar.
• Strongly preferred to have experience shipping LLM-integrated features in a production setting (prompt design, evaluations, cost management).
• Experience with Stripe billing integration, including subscriptions, metered billing, and paywalls.
• Background in early-stage startups (previously worked as the 2nd or 3rd engineer in a startup).
• Ownership of production on-call responsibilities.
