AI Forward Deployed Engineer – Finance-focused

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +6 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop AI-enhanced variance commentary and close-checklist solutions that produce preliminary insights from financial data and pinpoint essential business drivers.

• Create user experiences utilizing Databricks Genie and controlled finance data to allow analysts to investigate information through natural language queries.

• Collaborate with FP&A Analysts and Project Financial Analysts to provide tools that boost efficiency and improve financial decision-making.

• Evaluate and report on the adoption, usage, and productivity improvements of solutions to illustrate business impact.

• Establish assistive reconciliation functionalities that aid finance teams while maintaining human oversight of controls and approvals.

• Design and implement AI-driven applications using Databricks, Python, and contemporary LLM technologies.

• Ensure that solutions comply with governance standards by maintaining a clear distinction between AI-generated suggestions and financial control operations.

• Work with finance stakeholders to gain insights into processes, close cycles, planning activities, and reporting requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.

• Over 2 years of practical experience with Databricks and creating data-driven solutions.

• More than 2 years of experience in LLM application engineering, covering prompt engineering, context engineering, retrieval, structured outputs, and evaluation.

• At least 2 years of experience using Python and possessing adequate full-stack development skills to produce production-ready applications.

• A minimum of 2 years working closely with or within Finance teams.

• Understanding of FP&A processes, monthly closing activities, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and foundational revenue recognition.

• Experience with financial systems and governed financial data, including platforms such as NetSuite, Certinia, and Workday Adaptive Planning.

• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Copilot, MLflow, Databricks Vector Search, Databricks Genie, Genie Code, and/or GenieOne.

• Proficiency in English is required.

• Experience in CRO or pharma services and exposure to SOX are preferred.
