AI Engineer – Internship

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.

📋 Description

• Become a member of the SogetiLabs R&D team, which consists of researchers and experts in AI.

• Create an explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) framework for vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communications.

• Engage in XAI-based automation within software-defined networks (SDN).

• Acquire knowledge of the SDN + Contiki/Cooja platform and establish a V2X network scenario.

• Define and execute multiple V2X application profiles that produce unique traffic patterns.

• Develop a flow-based packet collection and aggregation module for the SDN controller.

• Extract temporal and statistical features, and export annotated traces.

• Design an encoding for network-token sequences and train a GNN model.

• Assess performance against Random Forest or XGBoost models.

• Integrate the model into the controller via an inference service, such as a REST API.

• Implement explainable AI methodologies, including attention analysis, feature importance, Chain-of-Thought (CoT), and counterfactual explanations.

• Conduct experimental evaluations of classification quality and explanations across various scenarios.


⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s degree in Telecommunications or a final-year engineering degree with a specialization in telecommunications.

• Looking for a final-year internship opportunity.

• Strong understanding of networking principles (TCP/IP model, fundamentals of IoT/WSN, V2X, and SDN).

• Proficient in Python for data processing and machine learning tasks.

• Familiarity with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar frameworks.

• Understanding of machine learning concepts (supervised classification, training/validation, and introductory deep learning).

• Comfortable working in a Linux environment (including command line, Git, etc.).

• Basic knowledge of Java programming.

• Proficient in written and spoken English (minimum B2 level).

• Fluent in French (minimum C1 level).

• Demonstrates scientific rigor, adaptability, initiative, and ability to work in a team.

• Experience with Contiki/Cooja or sensor networks is advantageous.

• Interest in explainable AI (XAI) and topics at the intersection of networking and AI is a plus.

• Familiarity with LLMs is considered an asset.
