AI Engineer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Lead the design, development, and ownership of internal platforms and systems powered by AI, including initiatives created from scratch.

• Oversee the complete delivery of complex projects, from the discovery of problems and system design to production rollout and iterative improvements.

• Design and implement features driven by AI, intelligent automation, and orchestration systems that enhance customer experiences and boost productivity across teams.

• Integrate AI capabilities into customer-facing products, internal tools, and operational workflows, ensuring that solutions fit seamlessly and provide measurable value.

• Develop full-stack systems encompassing backend services, APIs, data layers, and frontend interfaces.

• Convert vague business and operational challenges into scalable, maintainable, AI-enabled technical solutions.

• Employ robust systems thinking to guarantee reliability, performance, security, permissions, and auditability across platforms.

• Work closely with engineers, teams, and stakeholders throughout the company to identify high-impact opportunities and promote adoption.

• Engage in production support and incident response for the systems you own, helping to define and maintain reliability and operational best practices.

• Mentor members of the AI team through code reviews, design feedback, and hands-on guidance, raising the overall quality standards of the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5 years of professional experience in software engineering, AI engineering, platform engineering, or similar roles.

• Practical experience in designing, building, and deploying AI-powered systems in production settings.

• Strong expertise in Python, SQL, and frontend frameworks such as React.

• Proven track record in designing and managing production-grade full-stack systems.

• Experience with distributed systems, internal platforms, or complex data workflows.

• Demonstrated experience with Claude or equivalent large language model tools is essential; candidates should be adept at utilizing AI to enhance productivity, research, and communication.

• Capability to navigate effectively in ambiguous problem areas and drive solutions with minimal guidance.
