AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Develop AI agents and workflows utilizing tool calling and state management, leveraging LangChain/LangGraph or similar technologies.

• Create MCP (Model Context Protocol) tools and servers that integrate agents with CareTracker data and services.

• Implement features on the AI gateway (LiteLLM) and API gateway, including model routing, rate limiting, authentication, and logging.

• Incorporate tracing and evaluations into agent pipelines using OpenTelemetry and Langfuse.

• Produce production-grade code in Python, .NET (C#), and TypeScript, complete with tests and code reviews.

• Work with healthcare data (HL7, FHIR, claims) in compliance with HIPAA and PHI regulations.

• Collaborate with senior engineers, take responsibility for features, and enhance design skills.

• Comply with confidentiality requirements and Harris’ Security and Privacy policies when handling protected or private information.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in software development.

• At least 2 years of experience in Python programming.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in .NET (C#) development.

• Over 2 years of experience in developing and supporting REST APIs.

• Familiarity with Git and CI/CD tools.

• At least 1 year of experience working with TypeScript on the front-end.

• A minimum of 1 year of experience building at least one application or project utilizing LLMs (Claude, OpenAI, or similar), including prompt creation and tool usage.

• Over 1 year of exposure to agent frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, or similar), MCP, or LLM observability tools, through professional or personal projects.

• A genuine interest in healthcare and a willingness to learn about HIPAA, PHI, and interoperability standards.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Capability to work both independently and as part of a team.

• Openness to learning and growth within a team setting.
