This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of comprehensive solutions: convert complex healthcare and operational challenges into AI/ML models that yield measurable outcomes by selecting methodologies, constructing data/models, deploying services, incorporating observability, and implementing real-world feedback mechanisms.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Clinical leaders to integrate data science into processes such as claims processing, utilization management, provider network optimization, and risk adjustment.
• Provide clinical intelligence capabilities including autonomous chart review, disease identification, compliance forecasting, and quality analytics.
• Develop AI/NLP/LLM models for document comprehension and information extraction, which encompass OCR, NER, and vision models.
• Enhance quality and payment integrity by designing models and automated quality assurance systems to minimize manual reviews, boost accuracy, and identify documentation discrepancies and audit risks.
• Promote engineering excellence through the use of internal libraries, reusable components, coding standards, code reviews, and thorough documentation.
• Manage the lifecycle of models: including monitoring, drift detection, alerting, and conducting post-deployment evaluations.
• 2-5 years of experience delivering production-level data science or ML software with tangible results.
• Strong foundation in software engineering principles: data structures, algorithms, modular design, API design, and documentation.
• Expertise in Python and SQL; experience in developing reusable packages, utilities, and command-line interface tools.
• Practical knowledge of machine learning (tree ensembles, boosting, NLP/LLMs, deep learning) and experimental design.
• Familiarity with handling high-volume, high-dimensional, and unstructured data; a strong commitment to data quality.
• Experience with Git workflows, code reviews, and continuous integration/continuous deployment.
• Exceptional skills in data visualization and storytelling.
• Ability to excel in ambiguous and fast-paced settings.
• Preferred: Experience in the healthcare sector and understanding of CMS/Medicare Advantage operations.
• Experience with document understanding systems using OCR/NER and LLM pipelines.
• Knowledge of NoSQL and performance optimization techniques.
• Contributions to internal frameworks or open-source projects; published work is a plus.
