AI Data Readiness Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the metric registry and develop standard definitions for business metrics.

• Gather metric owners, document any disagreements, facilitate decision-making, and publish changes to metrics along with their justifications.

• Apply agreed-upon definitions within the semantic layer and data catalog.

• Phase out outdated metric versions.

• Review the reporting landscape and eliminate assets that lack an audience.

• Assign ownership for the remaining reporting assets.

• Create data quality checks and agents to ensure freshness, uniqueness, referential integrity, and cross-system reconciliation.

• Direct data-quality failures to designated owners or agents.

• Keep a record of AI agents that access company data and the definitions they depend on.

• Assess AI-agent outputs against known correct answers while monitoring accuracy, refusal, and error rates.

• Facilitate access to governed, reliable data for both individuals and AI tools.

• Operate in a governance-focused role with a strong technical foundation; defining, implementing, and validating are key responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in analytics, analytics engineering, or a closely aligned field.

• Proficient in SQL, with the ability to reverse-engineer undocumented transformation logic created by others.

• Direct experience managing a semantic or metrics layer in a production environment using dbt, Cube, LookML, or similar tools.

• Proven capability to reconcile conflicting metric definitions across various functions and reach a decision.

• Excellent written communication skills.

• Ability to deprecate and eliminate work generated by others.

• Experience in evaluating LLM or AI agent outputs against established ground truth.

• Familiarity with developing or contributing to a data catalog and/or lineage tools.

• Preferred: experience with lakehouse architectures, Iceberg, Athena, Trino, or similar platforms.

• Preferred: exposure to audit readiness, SOX, or environments with financial controls.

• Preferred: experience in consumption or usage-based business models.

• Preferred: involvement in a function during its early stages, prior to established processes.

• Comfortable rapidly adopting new AI models and methods, integrating AI into workflows, and continuously exploring innovative approaches.

• Must reside in the United States.
