📋 Description

• Operationalize and enhance Phaidra’s AI-driven control solutions for enterprise data center clients.

• Collaborate with Data Science to develop facility models for integration into Phaidra’s products.

• Comprehend facility specifications and configure products to meet the requirements of both the facility and the client.

• Commission, fine-tune, assess, and troubleshoot deployed control systems.

• Recognize and articulate product requirements based on client specifications and needs.

• Convert customer-expressed and implied needs into comprehensive documentation for software development.

• Oversee the deployment and continual support of multiple solutions, potentially concurrently.

• Address onboarding and support inquiries by coordinating with stakeholders or providing direct solutions.

• Monitor solution performance, troubleshoot control systems and equipment, analyze issues, and manage risks.

• Serve as both an internal and customer-facing subject matter expert.

• Provide exceptional customer support, advise on research projects, and assist with sales and marketing initiatives.

• Engage in customer onboarding, new system setup, troubleshooting, site visits, code repository contributions, and business process improvements.


⛳️ Requirements

• Residing in the USA or Canada.

• 5–10 years of experience as a controls engineer, programmer, or in a similar role.

• Proficient in HVAC and data center cooling control methods and strategies.

• Familiarity with chiller plant fundamentals, configurations, and operational sequences.

• Knowledge of applied thermodynamics relevant to cooling systems, refrigeration systems, and hydronics.

• Experience in controls design engineering or strong expertise in industrial and commercial control systems and protocols such as BACnet and Modbus.

• Understanding of air-side chilled-water and direct-expansion cooling systems and their control strategies.

• Skilled in collaborating with data center operations teams to resolve field operations challenges.

• Experience in programming control systems using PLC, ladder logic, text, or block programming languages.

• Strong educational background in fields such as Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Control Theory, Applied Mathematics, or related disciplines.

• Ability to read and write Python scripts in partnership with software engineering teams.

• Exceptional communication skills, with the capability to convey complex domain-specific and AI/ML concepts to non-experts.

• Proficient in managing documentation effectively.

• Capacity to understand customer needs and enhance customer satisfaction.

• Capability to support colleagues and conduct collaborative sessions.

• Ability to independently utilize AI tools to enhance workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and assist in onboarding and troubleshooting.

• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
