Agronomist, Project Coordinator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Senegal.

📋 Description

• Assist in the establishment and daily technical operations of the Agri Innovation Center located in Senegal.

• Organize production, composting systems, liquid production, storage, quality assessments, and demonstration initiatives.

• Compile monthly operational reports detailing production, raw materials, demonstration advancements, budgeting, risks, and challenges.

• Develop and uphold standard operating procedures (SOPs), batch records, and quality-control logs for bioslurry-based regenerative inputs.

• Evaluate SOPs and quality documentation during each production cycle in collaboration with the Agri Innovation team.

• Educate farmers, cooperative personnel, and field teams on composting, bioslurry management, regenerative inputs, soil health, and crop observation techniques.

• Keep comprehensive training records that include attendance, topics covered, locations, gender breakdown, photographs, and follow-up actions.

• Plan and oversee field demonstrations, crop protocols, application timelines, farmer feedback, and product efficacy.

• Organize soil and product testing, laboratory follow-up, certification documentation, and regulatory submissions.

• Liaise with partners, laboratories, regulatory authorities, cooperatives, and the Senegal Project Manager.

• Assist in planning activities, collecting field evidence, maintaining training and production records, providing donor reporting inputs, and preparing quarterly monitoring updates.

• Facilitate product commercialization by connecting with input buyers, farming organizations, private enterprises, and local and national authorities.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Agriculture, or a related discipline.

• Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) is a valuable asset.

• 3–8 years of practical experience in composting, bioslurry, biofertilizers, biopesticides, farmer training, or agricultural project execution.

• Experience in planning, budgeting, and managing agricultural or field-based projects from inception to completion.

• Background in partner and stakeholder relationship management and capacity-building.

• Practical experience applying fertilizers, bio-inputs, and crop protection products in line with agronomic standards.

• Skilled in engaging farmers, cooperatives, field teams, and government stakeholders through farm visits, training sessions, and demonstrations.

• Proficient in data collection, record maintenance, project reporting, and monitoring & evaluation.

• Inquisitive, adaptable, and hands-on, with a passion for science, innovation, and farming communities.

• Strong communication abilities.

• Willingness to travel and capability to work independently in field-based settings.

• Proficiency in English and French is essential.

• Knowledge of local languages is an added benefit.
