Agency Managing Director – Commercial P&C

📋 Description

• Manage and oversee the financial performance of agency relationships by monitoring profitability, growth trends, and submission activities.

• Develop and implement agency business plans.

• Identify avenues to enhance growth by taking ownership of key financial performance metrics related to agencies.

• Serve as the primary point of contact and advocate for the agency within Amerisure.

• Build robust working relationships and assist agencies in navigating internal processes while influencing decision-making.

• Exercise high-level premium authority and impact underwriting decisions on an account basis.

• Collaborate with the distribution team to track commissions and promote favorable financial performance.

• Identify, activate, and sustain relationships with new and existing agencies.

• Act as the escalation point for significant agency issues.

• Collect marketplace intelligence to guide strategic decisions that benefit both Amerisure and agency partners.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

• 8 years of market-facing experience; underwriting experience is preferred.

• At least 3 years of managing direct business relationships with agency ownership or leadership is preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to identify long-term opportunities and risks while aligning agency efforts with strategic objectives.

• Proven track record of showing initiative, taking ownership of issues, and inspiring teams towards common goals.

• Required proficiency in computer skills, including the Microsoft Office Suite.

• Successful experience in building positive relationships and partnerships within the department, across the organization, and with external clients.

• Strong strategic thinking capabilities supported by analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to navigate ambiguity.

• Capability to influence and persuade others effectively.

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-visibility, and dynamic environment.

• Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time.
