• Design, establish, and implement CFD simulations utilizing both commercial and open-source solvers for high-speed aerospace system challenges, encompassing both external and internal flows.
• Generate aerodynamic databases to support vehicle trajectory simulations and performance modeling.
• Conduct analyses of internal flows within airbreathing propulsion pathways.
• Develop and suggest design solutions aimed at enhancing aerodynamic performance and operational efficiency for high-speed systems.
• Utilize advanced data science methodologies, including machine learning, to create surrogate models based on CFD simulation data.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary design optimization (MDO) initiatives.
• Analyze and validate CFD simulation outputs against experimental findings.
• A bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering or a related discipline.
• 10-15+ years of experience in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) related to aerospace systems.
• Expertise in CFD software tools such as Pointwise and Tecplot for mesh generation and post-processing of results.
• Strong programming capabilities for modeling and analysis (e.g., Python, MATLAB / Simulink, Fortran, or C++), including scripting to automate simulations and reduce data.
• Experience in creating aerodynamic data for trajectory simulations, mission analyses, and performance trade-off studies.
• Knowledge of high-performance computing (HPC) for conducting large-scale CFD simulations, with experience in a Linux environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in interpreting engineering schematics, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Satellite engineering offices located throughout the US offer potential flexibility regarding work location.
• This position is open to remote work options.
