Advisory Instructor, 9th - 11th Grade

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Instruct approximately two periods of Advisory and provide coverage for other teachers as required.

• Adhere to lesson plans and achieve lesson goals while complying with SEO’s standards for high-quality instruction and student involvement.

• Familiarize yourself with and utilize Brightspace, Nearpod, G Suite applications, and Zoom chat in a blended learning setting.

• Read, comprehend, practice, and modify lesson plans and resources to cater to student requirements.

• Conduct open-door lunch tutoring sessions for Scholars.

• Foster a dynamic, engaging, approachable, and positive classroom atmosphere.

• Participate in scheduled meetings, professional development sessions, check-ins, and debriefs.

• Respond promptly to emails and Zoom chats.

• Meet with the designated instructional coach at least twice throughout the semester and incorporate feedback from classroom observations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

• Teaching certification, K-12 classroom teaching experience, and/or experience in higher education teaching.

• Proficiency and comfort in using and navigating technological learning platforms.

• Knowledge and application of student-centered teaching methodologies.

• Experience working with high school students.

• Strong expertise and comprehensive knowledge in advanced high school-level ELA or Humanities.

• Willingness to engage in discussions analyzing the historical and ongoing causes of societal issues and challenges.

• Successful completion of a Level 2 background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse, which includes fingerprinting, is a prerequisite for employment.
