This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with program and country office teams to develop budgets for grant proposals, effectively translating program needs into viable financial plans.

• Regularly review award portfolios, including oversight of life-of-award meetings, to identify and mitigate potential risks, and work with cost center staff to create spending plans that comply with the scope of work and donor conditions.

• Generate donor spending reports that ensure data accuracy and adhere to donor and audit standards.

• Oversee donor billing processes, ensuring timely receipt of receivables.

• Verify the proper closeout of awards in accordance with donor requirements and SCUS awards management protocols.

• Assist in the development and execution of the annual fiscal budget process for your portfolio, ensuring alignment with the organization’s goals and objectives.

• Collaborate with country office leadership to create and analyze financial projections and forecasts for the awards portfolio, proactively identifying and addressing financial risks.

• Utilize financial data and historical spending patterns to guide cost centers, prepare financial projections, and ensure that spending plans align with organizational objectives and risk tolerance.

• Conduct regular budget reviews for your awards to ensure efficient use of funds and provide guidance to teams on spending.

• Aid in the creation of financial training materials and conduct ongoing training sessions for finance and program staff on financial policies, procedures, and award compliance.

• Partner with the Managing Director and Senior Director to refresh financial policies and procedures, implementing best practices across the team.

• Support the execution of needs assessments to identify staff training needs, assess the effectiveness of training programs, and recommend improvements as necessary.

• Facilitate training for both internal and external stakeholders on various financial topics, including budget holder guidance, financial policies and procedures, donor compliance and reports, and federal regulations such as 2 CFR 200 and EDGAR.

• Collaborate with the Senior Director to ensure that training requirements are met for both internal and external stakeholders regarding awards in your portfolio.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, along with at least 5 years of relevant experience.

• Advanced proficiency and hands-on experience with Microsoft Excel, showcasing the ability to implement creative solutions for data compilation.

• Proven capability to support multiple stakeholders by providing accurate financial data and guidance.

• Demonstrated experience in managing complex, multifunctional budgets.

• Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time.

• Professional proficiency in the MS Office suite.

• Professional proficiency in both spoken and written English.

• Professional proficiency in both spoken and written Spanish.
