This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.
• Delivers psychiatric diagnosis, care, and treatment both in-patient and via telepsychiatry, as well as in-person, aimed at enhancing clients' mental health.
• Conducts psychiatric evaluations as necessary for new clients.
• Reassesses and updates evaluations as required.
• Performs age-appropriate history and physical examinations for complex acute, critical, and chronically ill perioperative patients.
• Orders and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests in accordance with the patient’s age-specific needs.
• Prescribes suitable pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment approaches.
• Implements interventions to assist the patient in regaining or maintaining physiological stability.
• Monitors the effectiveness of the interventions provided.
• Facilitates the patient’s transition within and across healthcare settings.
• Reviews and evaluates clinical data related to the physical status of the client.
• Assesses and follows up on prior mental and physical treatment plans.
• Leads prescribed individual and group therapy sessions and/or educational workshops.
• Reviews, approves, and signs the individual service plans for clients.
• Documents and updates the client's progress in progress notes.
• Prescribes medications for clients.
• Monitors the effectiveness of medications and adjusts as needed.
• Collaborates with team members to discuss client progress and future outlook.
• Coordinates with external agencies as required.
• Acts as a client advocate when appropriate.
• Contacts clients’ relatives to arrange family meetings when necessary.
• Provides after-hours services during the regularly scheduled work week.
• Responsible for working closely with the supervisor to arrange for backup coverage during vacations.
• Medical degree in psychiatry from an accredited institution.
• Completion of an Adult residency program.
• Licensed to practice by the State of Oregon.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school for PMHNP.
• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program for PMHNP.
• Current Nurse Practitioner certification in the specialty area.
• Must be able to pass a criminal history background check.
• Preference is given to those with experience working with individuals with mental illnesses in residential or psychiatric hospital environments.
