Adjuster

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Manage losses and claims for property and casualty insurance providers

• Review insurance policies and related documentation to ascertain coverage

• Conduct interviews, phone calls, and/or correspondence with claimants and witnesses concerning claims

• Consult with police and hospital records and assess property damage to evaluate the extent of the company's liability, employing various investigative methods based on the type of insurance

• Estimate the costs related to repair, replacement, or compensation

• Compile reports of findings and negotiate settlements with claimants

• Suggest legal action by the legal department when a settlement cannot be reached

• Attend litigation hearings

• Update case reserves in assigned claims files to reflect anticipated costs

• Assist in the preparation of loss experience reports to aid in assessing profitability and calculating appropriate future rates

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is preferred

• Achieve IIA-AIC designation within a timeframe of 12 to 18 months

• A valid state adjuster license is mandatory

• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including proficiency in presentations

• Proficient in PC usage, including Microsoft Office applications

• Proven commitment to timely reporting
