Adjunct Faculty, Dissertation Chair – Sport and Performance Psychology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Offer an average of 3 hours per week of support to each dissertation candidate under supervision.

• Comply with the policies and procedures outlined in the UWS Dissertation Handbook.

• Mandatory utilization of the Canvas learning management system to record student progress and provide chair feedback/guidance.

• Conduct weekly product reviews and Zoom meetings with doctoral candidates.

• Attend and facilitate proposal and final defenses via Zoom.

• Maintain regular communication with committee members.

• Participate in 1-2 individual meetings per term with the Dissertation Coordinator.

• Attend or review recordings from quarterly group meetings with dissertation faculty.

⛳️ Requirements

• Hold a doctoral degree (e.g., PhD, EdD, PsyD) in sport and performance psychology, clinical mental health counseling, sport science, health science, or a related field.

• Provide evidence of completed research.

• Maintain current membership and active participation in relevant state, regional, and national professional organizations associated with SPP.

• Demonstrate evidence of publication, presentation, and ongoing education in sport and performance psychology and/or clinical counseling.

• Be proficient in data analysis software (either qualitative or quantitative).

• Exhibit self-sufficiency in managing personal schedules.

• Be skilled in document/report preparation in accordance with institutional editorial guidelines.

• Possess intermediate-to-advanced computer skills, including MS Office Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat Professional.

• Be proficient with video conferencing systems.

• Have a working understanding and experience with the Canvas learning management system (or equivalent).
