Addiction Medicine Physician, Nurse Practitioner – Part-Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.

📋 Description

• Conduct initial assessments, diagnoses, treatment, and ongoing support for individuals facing complex addiction and substance-related health issues.

• Complete comprehensive and accurate documentation to facilitate professional billing for services rendered.

• Educate patients and their families about the illness and prognosis to clarify care goals and support the development of a comprehensive care plan.

• Interpret test results to identify any health concerns and provide constructive feedback to patients.

• Counsel and educate patients on medication adherence.

• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of professionals to ensure optimal care for patients requiring both medical and behavioral health services.

• Conduct follow-up visits to monitor patients' progress regarding medication and/or treatment.

• Communicate with the patient's primary care physician and/or specialists as needed.

• Assess lab results and consult with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) regarding any abnormal findings.

• Review and manage progress and treatment plans, making necessary adjustments where required.

• Maintain all required licensure, certifications, and continuing medical education (CME) credits.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possess an active and unrestricted medical license as a physician or nurse practitioner in the applicable state.

• Experience delivering addiction medicine services to both medically and socially complex populations; experience managing intricate substance use disorders.

• Capability to establish relationships with network and community physicians, as well as other providers.

• Hold current, active DEA licensure and prescriptive authority in the relevant state(s).

• Ability to work on-site with diverse care teams across various settings.

• Strong time management and communication skills.

• Proficient in computer use and experienced with Electronic Medical Records.
