Actuarial AI Research Contributor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop realistic Excel tasks based on actuarial work, which includes enhancing existing models, repairing malfunctioning models, and creating models from a given brief.

• Methodically work through each task to ensure a clear and accurate answer.

• Formulate precise yes-or-no criteria for graders to assess attempts effectively.

• Design one original task during the onboarding process and submit the brief along with the necessary input workbooks.

• Engage in a 30-minute group walkthrough call.

• Assist in evaluating tasks against the current leading AI models.

• Draft a comprehensive yes-or-no rubric when AI models yield incorrect outcomes.

• Collaborate with a reviewer to obtain task sign-off.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an actuarial position within insurance, pensions, or consulting, covering P&C/general insurance, life, health, or pensions.

• Extensive hands-on experience with Excel, including proficiency with reserving triangles, pricing models, nested formulas, named ranges, and Goal Seek.

• Excellent written communication skills in English.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Eagerness to learn about AI concepts and evaluations.

• Capability to create realistic Excel tasks based on professional work.

• Competence in working through tasks to produce clear and correct answers.

• Ability to write accurate yes-or-no grading criteria.

• Input workbooks must be constructed by humans.

• Utilize real data that has been sanitized, or public data with the source duly cited.

• No AI assistance permitted when drafting the brief and preparing input workbooks.
