ACD-Level Art Director – Pharma Advertising

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Oversee the artistic direction and visual concept development for comprehensive pharmaceutical and healthcare campaigns, encompassing brand identity and design systems through to omnichannel execution.

• Collaborate with an ACD-CW and other members of the creative team to cultivate significant brand ideas.

• Convert strategic insights and medical information into engaging visual narratives across layouts, mood boards, storyboards, presentations, and integrated campaign expressions—while ensuring compliance.

• Work closely with copywriters to maintain harmony between messaging and visual representation at every touchpoint.

• Guide and enhance design across various channels (digital, social, video, print, experiential, PR, email/CRM), modifying visual systems to suit audience and context.

• Confidently present work to internal stakeholders and clients, advocating for ideas with clear reasoning, compelling visual storytelling, and strategic clarity.

• Assist in production and help create final assets, ensuring accuracy, craftsmanship, and fidelity to the concept through MLR, shoots, and final delivery.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7–10+ years of experience in art direction and design, including a minimum of 3–5 years within healthcare/pharma agencies or brand activation communications.

• A portfolio and résumé that showcase your skills in developing large-scale campaign ideas.

• Proficiency in creating and directing brand activations, digital storytelling, content capture, and experiential concepts.

• Familiarity with FDA, legal, and medical review processes relevant to pharmaceutical communications.

• Strong presentation and storytelling abilities—capable of visually and verbally articulating creative concepts.

• A team player who excels in a dynamic, idea-driven environment.
