This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +13 more states.
• Oversee precise, compliant, and timely billing, ensuring appropriate reimbursement for multispecialty medical professional services from various insurance providers and patients.
• Prepare and re-submit accurate claims to different insurance companies either electronically or via paper, adhering to specific payer guidelines and contractual obligations.
• Analyze and rectify claims rejected on the first pass, ensuring completeness and accuracy of information for subsequent clean claim submissions.
• Conduct research and execute all primary and secondary billing claim status follow-up activities for designated insurance plans.
• Review, assess, and process all claim appeals through resubmission to insurance carriers, providing complete and accurate supporting documentation as required.
• Investigate and propose any necessary adjustments and/or write-offs to customer accounts to the Manager based on the collectability of accounts with insurance carriers or patients.
• Identify and report claims issues, errors, and discrepancies to management to proactively detect and effectively address billing trends in a timely manner.
• Generate and distribute monthly patient balance due statements to clients based on the explanations of benefits received from their insurance providers.
• Review patient accounts, identify delinquent accounts, and pursue overdue payments.
• Address patient inquiries regarding billing and payments.
• Investigate and/or redirect patient questions or complaints to the appropriate staff member.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent professional experience.
• Preferred experience in Medical Insurance Claims billing.
• A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience is required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and Google applications.
• Competence in basic arithmetic including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to identify problems, gather data, establish facts, and recognize trends.
• Capacity to exercise sound judgment and escalate issues appropriately.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; a self-starter who is dependable and trustworthy.
• Strong team player with exceptional interpersonal skills, while also capable of working independently.
• Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize tasks, complete them, and meet deadlines.
• Must promote a positive influence within the team, department, and organization.
