This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Review, process, and resolve denied insurance claims in accordance with established standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Investigate payer requirements, policies, websites, and internal systems to identify claim discrepancies and determine subsequent actions.
• Recognize denial patterns and payer-related concerns, and relay findings to leadership and collaborating teams.
• Communicate with insurance providers, physicians, patients, and other stakeholders to gather information and facilitate the resolution of claims.
• Oversee assigned Accounts Receivable inventory and manage aged accounts receivable following SOPs and departmental guidelines.
• Ensure accurate account documentation and record-keeping.
• Address inquiries and assist in efforts to resolve claims.
• Work in conjunction with internal teams and external partners for timely and precise account resolution.
• Achieve production and quality targets through organized and accurate denial processing.
• Support operational and departmental goals while being adaptable to changing priorities.
• High school diploma or equivalent GED.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in accounts receivable, accounting, medical billing, healthcare revenue cycle, or a related area.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
• Capability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational, time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive financial and patient information.
• Capacity to work in a remote office setting with extended periods of sitting and computer usage.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing payer requirements, business needs, and departmental priorities.
• An Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Experience in customer service, call center, or healthcare support roles is preferred.
• Background in insurance denial management or Revenue Cycle Management is preferred.
• Familiarity with LCBS, LCLS, and Mobius View is preferred.
