This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Ability to diagnose the reasons behind claim denials and resolve them with minimal support.
• Analyze issues and report patterns related to denials and payer behaviors.
• Follow up on outstanding claims within the standard billing cycle timeframe.
• Prepare and submit corrected or replacement claims, reconsiderations, appeals, medical documentation, and other necessary documents to payers via fax, provider portals, etc.
• Make outbound calls to payers to address claims and payment concerns.
• Ensure that the patient's medical information is accurate and current.
• Meet productivity standards as set by the organization and external benchmarks.
• Provide necessary reporting and communication regarding any accounts receivable issues directly to the team lead.
• Effectively utilize the billing system to document patient accounts with proper grammar, spelling, and syntax.
• Offer administrative support to the team lead when necessary, including assistance with internal and external audits.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of policies and guidelines for all payers.
• Adhere to the Code of Conduct and Mission & Values Statement.
• In addition to the responsibilities listed above, other duties and projects may be assigned.
• High School graduate or equivalent qualification.
• Preferred education in medical billing or possession of medical billing certification.
• Experience with Mod Med/EMA practice management system is an advantage.
• Understanding of fundamental principles of revenue cycle management, accounts receivables, denial management, and coding (CPT/HCPCS/ICD10).
• Must exhibit a high level of professionalism and be an effective communicator.
• Detail-oriented, results-driven self-starter with a positive outlook.
• Capable of multitasking, prioritizing, and managing time effectively in a remote work environment.
• Willingness to learn and adapt swiftly in a dynamic setting.
• Ability to uphold a high level of integrity and confidentiality regarding medical information.
